Call Me (970) 279-2200
I am a 1990 graduate of the University of Colorado School of Law. My first two years of practice were as a Deputy District Attorney in the Fourth Judicial District (Colorado Springs). I spent the next 15 years moving from Deputy District Attorney to Chief Deputy District Attorney to Assistant District Attorney for the Ninth Judicial District (Pitkin, Garfield and Rio Blanco Counties). In 2005 I opened my criminal defense practice.
My case load has been broad and varied. I have represented over 1,400 juveniles and adults in felony, misdemeanor and traffic charges, including attempted homicide, assault on a police officer, possession of drugs, distribution of drugs, theft (including embezzlement), trespass, menacing, criminal mischief, impersonation, driving under the influence, minors in possession, domestic violence, careless driving resulting in death, and wildlife charges.
My role is to help good people in bad situations. My goal with each of my clients is to advocate aggressively on their behalf to minimize their criminal exposure while assisting them to improve their lives going forward. I am particularly sensitive to the many issues that arise in juvenile cases and the difficulties of parenting through tough situations.
I practice in the District and County courts of Central and Western Colorado. I appear in the municipal courts of Aspen, Basalt, Carbondale, Glenwood Springs, Eagle and Rifle. I also appear in front of the Department of Social Services, the Department of Motor Vehicles, and the Liquor Board. I have practiced in front of the Colorado Supreme Court.
